Nathalie Djurberg is one of ten featured artists commissioned by PERFORMA to create new work for PERFORMA 07. Djurberg presents her first live work, Untitled (Working Title Kids & Dogs), a claymation film with live musical accompaniment oscillating between music, written and performed by Hans Berg, and sounds produced by Djurberg, Berg, and Pascal Strauss, with homemade instruments and readymade objects.
The new animated film, to be projected on a large-scale, consists of two scenes: the first shows an army of children at war with a pack of dogs on the streets of a large city; the second, a hospital where the wounded have been brought for treatment. The beat of a bass drum played by two live drummers outfitted in military marching band costumes will be heard throughout the film. Sounds and noises on the soundtrack, including crunching cereal and squeaking dog toys, are played in sync with the images of marching children, crying patients, and firing machine guns.

ABOUT
The Zipper Theater is a renovated Zipper factory that features theatrical productions in addition to a concert series. It's a superb 199 seat venue for performers and audiences - amazing sightlines, great sound, and unusually comfortable seats (most of the seats come straight out of automobiles!)
