Throughout the year, PERFORMA presents lectures, panel discussions, and workshops on an ongoing basis that explore the relationship between performance and the visual arts. For the first time, during the biennial PERFORMA, with New York University, will be hosting the 13th annual conference of Performance Studies International, "Happening, Performance, Event," which will bring over 500 performance scholars and practitioners to the city for four days of keynote addresses, panels, and workshops. PERFORMA will also present another installment of NOT FOR SALE, an ongoing public education series featuring artists, authors, and critics discussing current issues in performance and new media, and the related task of writing about art and artists whose work encompasses several disciplines at once. Additional educational events during PERFORMA07 will be presented in collaboration with the Brooklyn Academy of Music, Aperture Foundation, The Jewish Museum, and the Judson Memorial Church.
